Filing Requirements

German Patent Application
  1. Specification, claim(s) on A4 paper, abstract to be filed within 15 months from filing date, drawings (if any)
  2. Name and complete business address of applicant(s)
  3. Complete name(s) and address(es) of the inventor(s) – if not filed with the application, must be filed within 15 months from the filing date
  4. Assignment – if not filed with the application, must be filed within 15 months from the priority date
  5. Priority claim:
    Priority date(s) and country – declared within two months of filing
    Serial number(s) and uncertified copy/copies of the priority application(s) – must be filed within 16 months from the earliest priority date(s)
  6. No Power of Attorney is required unless required by the German Patent and Trademark Office
